Our Story
Feeding Animals
Since 2005
Rands & Wilson Feeds Limited was established in September 2005 by John Rands and Mark Wilson, using their 50 years joint experience in the animal feed industry. Those 50 years were spent working for two, long standing, family animal feed manufacturing businesses, Clark & Butcher Ltd and Parker Brothers Ltd.
​In 2010 John Rands left the business to spend more time with his family and pursue other avenues, although sad to see John leave the Rands & Wilson brand carries on.
A New Chapter...
The team expands
We welcomed Anita Palmer to Rands & Wilson in 2010 as our delivery driver and she has been a valued member of the team ever since.
2011 then saw the arrival of Tim Wilson to the R&W team, who has learnt everything he knows 'on the job'.
Tim makes Rands & Wilson a family business and is aiming to take the reins when Mark is put out to pasture! (but not for a few years yet!)
Towards the Winter of 2016 Rachael Simington (Tim's partner) joined the team, working just Fridays managing our shop.

In 2018 an 'off the cuff' idea about rebuilding the barn next door into a bigger and better shop soon became reality.
August 2018 saw the opening of our new ground floor shop which Rachael now runs 3 days a week to keep on top of our ever expanding stock.
Marks wife, Jenny Wilson is often on site too keeping us all stocked up with the most delicious sandwiches and cakes.
Jenny also helps us out with emergency cover and emergency feed deliveries.
Rands & Wilson is a true family run business.
The philosophy now, as it was when our doors first opened in 2005 still remains strong.
Rands & Wilson is built upon traditional values of quality, service and trust and we pass them values to you, the customer.

Its incredible how far we come since the first day of trading, where we sold six bags of feed in the first week!
We sent shipments of the Rands & Wilson brand internationally, attended horse shows with a trade stand, sponsored show jumping leagues, supported local charities, held an open day, hosted BHS lectures and sponsored local riders/drivers and this is just the beginning!
But of course this would all not be possible without the continued support from you, our customers and we really thank you for continuing to purchase from us and if you haven’t please come along and see us, our shop has lots to offer.
We are pleased to announce that our brand new Rands & Wilson online store will be opening in Spring 2021, keep up to date by following our Facebook page or website.

Our Plant
Bespoke feed made in-house
Our skills have allowed us to personally design, build and commission our own plant to give a consistent, clean and high quality product. Our plant at Rands & Wilson has been designed and built to manufacture small, individual, specialist runs of animal feed.

Our Feed
We have our own specially formulated diets which we feel cover most of the requirements of the discerning leisure horse owner. We have the ability to manufacture any leisure, competition or racing horse mix, requested by either yourselves, your vet, our nutritionist or a diet that is formulated using our own qualified nutritionist.
​
We also manufacture animal feeds for rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, goats, and sheep.

Raw Materials
We take pride in our reputation of having extremely high quality mixes, this is achieved by sourcing the highest quality of raw materials available.

Service
We feel that quality of service is very important in today’s market, we at Rands & Wilson appreciate that you, the customer, do not always want to be tied to minimum order restrictions of quantity and delivery times.
We are in a position to offer a service that none of our competitors can, that being quality feed, sensibly priced with same day manufacture and Next Day Delivery.
